I have treated myself to an early Christmas present - a set of quickjacks that lift the car to around 24 inches. So I spend today making up hydraulic hoses, connecting them up and then filling and bleeding the system.
Here they are on their lowest setting - high enough for wheel, suspension and brake work etc.
Then they lift further, to provide a full 24 inches clearance underneath. They seem pretty stable too, although I don't think I fancy applying huge
amounts of sideways force when I'm underneath at full lift.
Considerably less Cooncil than balancing it on 6 bricks in each corner, that you nicked out of the bandstand at the public park.
You're not going to smuggle quickjacks home on the school bus though - they are 7 feet long and feckin' heavy!
