Nothing much to report over the last 2 weeks. The weather hasn't been good enough for the detailer man to look at the Lexus, and I've been too busy to get out for a run in a TVR. So it's been 2 weeks of damp limbo.
It's TVR Car Club meeting day tomorrow though, and the weather is at least dry today, so I take the S out of the garage and give it a clean, including a wee wipe over of the seats and interior. Then I nip down to Morrisons, which I can walk to in 10 minutes. Mysteriously, by the time I get home, I've done 50 miles…

It's TVR Car Club meeting day today. So it's raining. I'm struggling to remember the last time I took the TVR to an event and it's stayed dry all day. Chatsworth was like driving onto the set for a Cecil B De Mille set for a remake of "Noah - the Lord's final revenge", and then S-Club didn't even happen at all. Last year, if I recall correctly, wasn't a lot better. I think I should sell the cars and buy a boat.
Anyway, never mind the rain, I set off at the back of 10am in a persistent drizzle. So it's roof-on. The car's still great fun though - you have to be a wee bit circumspect accelerating out of wet corners, but compared to the Cerb, it's all easy to control. By the time I cross the Forth Bridge, the rain's off so I stop and take the roof off.
It's a great wee car this. Yes I know I've said that before, but it just is. It just flows along, fast and smooth (albeit a bit jiggly on bumps!) and it sounds brilliant. I get to the meeting and park up, and much chat ensues. No lunch though - I still grudge them my cash.
Just before we're ready to come home, the rain gets heavy. Then it gets heavier. So we sit indoors and wait till it lets up a bit.
As I'm driving home I notice that there's no water pishing in round the screen. My last repair, when I dug out all the sealer and then re-sealed it with boat sealer, seems to have worked. However, when I turn off the motorway and stop at the end of the slip road, my right ankle gets soaked by a stream of water that piddles down from the back of the dash.
The last time I had this, it was coming in round the wiper spindles. When I get home, I trickle some of my trusty Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack cure (no it's not a suppository) round the spindles. I saw that stuff for sale in a shop recently, and I can't remember where it was.
I was going to take some photos of the day, but if you Google "tropical monsoon" you'll get the idea.
