Dark, wet, miserable, and the weather isn't a lot better, so the car stays under the cover.
I do however decide to fix the rear number plate light, which isn't working. Does it unscrew easily?
No, I have to drill both the screws out.
Does it come off in one piece?
No, it explodes into about 8 bits that fall out separately. 2 of these bits are the lens which has split, and since the bulb holder is part of the lens, there's no way to hold it all together again. I need a new one.
After an extensive search based on the maker code embossed on the plastic cover, I find that it was also fitted to the Triumph TR7. I find an exploded diagram on a Triumph specialists site, which looks remarkably similar to the pile of bits in my driveway. I order one.

Received the new number plate light (on the right in the pic)on Tuesday. Looks like it might work a bit better than the old one (on the left).
10 minutes later (with 8 of those minutes occupied by finding 2 new self-tapping screws) I have the light fitted. This is what it looks like inside the boot before I reattached the wiring and refitted the trim and carpet.

The weather has been rubbish, and I have been busy doing other stuff, so the car has been stuck under its cover.
Today it's dry but frosty in places, and freezing cold. So what better day for a roof-off drive?
People keep staring. Is it because they like the car? Is it because I have the roof off? Is it because I have my fleecy viking hat on? Probably. Whatever, I have a really enjoyable blatt over the hills of Fife.
